Make a stained-glass window in one day, learn the Tiffany technique, or create your own mosaic artwork!

This year, too, you can occasionally attend a day workshop on stained glass, Tiffany (glass in copper foil), or glass mosaic:

During this creative and educational workshop, you will make your own stained-glass window. You choose the colors and types of glass yourself and partially determine the layout of the window. Next, you will learn the essential techniques needed to make stained glass: cutting and grinding the glass, setting it in the lead, and soldering.

In addition to practical work, you will also receive a brief explanation on how to create a good design. During the workshop, there is plenty of opportunity for personal guidance and questions. At the end of the day, you will go home with a beautiful, self-made stained-glass window and the knowledge to get started independently.

Tiffany

During this creative and educational workshop, you will make your own Tiffany glass piece of approximately 10x10 cm, constructed from 3 to 5 pieces of glass. You choose the colors, shapes, and design yourself. Think, for example, of an abstract design, a flower, a bird, or a heart. There are plenty of opportunities to let your creativity run wild.

During the workshop, you will learn the basics of the Tiffany technique: the requirements for a good design and how to execute it in glass. You will learn how to cut glass, including working with more complex shapes, and how to grind the glass. Next, you will be taught how to wrap the glass with copper foil (the basis of the Tiffany technique) and connect the various pieces of glass with solder. Finally, you will neatly finish your artwork, so that you go home with a beautiful and sturdy end result.

Glass mosaic

During this relaxed workshop, you will create your own lantern or small glass painting using small pieces of glass in approximately 2.5 hours.

You receive instructions on how to use the mosaic pliers, choose the colors you want to work with, and get started. Will it be straight sections, a fixed pattern, or will you go completely wild? It is up to you!



The teaching location is situated in the center of Delft, at Lange Geer 44A. You can walk here in five minutes from both Delft Station and the Zuidpoort parking garage.
